Mr. William Henry Sampson

William Henry Sampson, 78, of Westfield, passed away at his residence on Wednesday December 2, 2020. Born in Plainfield to the late Henry and Violet Thompson Sampson, Bill was a lifelong resident of Westfield. A graduate of Westfield High School, he was a Police Officer, retiring from the Westfield Police Department after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Army. A member of the PBA Local #90, Westfield, Bill enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, and baseball cards. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Anne Sampson (nee Capone). Bill is survived by daughter: Elizabeth Veiss and her husband Andrew, son: William H. Sampson Jr., two granddaughters: Olivia and Ella Sampson, and sister: Barbara Spiegel and her husband William. Graveside services will be Monday Decemember 7, 2020 at 11:30AM at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Police Benevolent Association.
