William Schleusener, the son of Alfred and Lilly Schleusener was given the gift of life on March 16, 1940, in Oxford, Nebraska.
As a child he was given the gift of new life through Holy Baptism. After instruction in the Christian faith, he was confirmed and became a communicant member of the Lutheran Church.
He was united in marriage to Myra Bruntz on November 5, 1966. God blessed this union with two children.
William was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather. William dedicated his life to his career in agriculture for many years. In his later years he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Most importantly he enjoyed working for the Lord and sharing his love for Jesus in all the churches he belonged to throughout his years. He also enjoyed ministering to all of those who took care of him in his home during his illness.
William is survived by his wife of 58 years, Myra Schleusener; two daughters, Julene (Keith) Petersen and Teresa (Erick) Dohm; six grandchildren; two sisters, Cynthia (Jack) Cahill and Brenda (Mike) Stanley; and one brother, Keith Schleusener.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother Elton Schleusener and sister-in-law, Vada Schleusener.
His life with God was brought to fulfillment when he joined the church in heaven on December 29, 2024.
A service to celebrate William's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 3, 2024, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 603 McCleary St, Dowagiac, where friends may visit with his family from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Pastor Matthew Reis will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church-Dowagiac for WELS Missions (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod). Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac. Please visit William's personalized webpage to share a memory or leave a condolence to his family at www.clarkch.com.
We rejoice that God the Father created and formed William.
We rejoice that God the Son redeemed William.
We rejoice that God the Holy Spirit called him by the Gospel, sanctified and kept him in the true faith.
"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." Revelation 14:13
