William Sharp Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 9, 2025.
William "Curtis" Sharp, age 73, of Plymouth, embarked on his eternal journey on Friday, July 4th, surrounded by his loving family who cherished him deeply. Most knew him by Curt.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories with his devoted family, including his children Amanda Sharp of New Bedford, Christine Sharp and her fiancé; William Burgess of Acushnet, Kory Sharp and her partner; Simon Lindros of Marshfield, and John and Nicole Sharp of Kingston. Proud grandfather of Arianna Oris, Brilynn Gunderway, Anyce Oris, and Samuel Seger. Beloved brother of Joanne Sharp of East Falmouth, Douglas Sharp of New Ipswich, NH, and the late Richard Sharp. He is also survived by several nieces.
Born in Medford on November 9, 1951, Curt was the son of the late William H. and Barbara J. (Leonard) Sharp. He was raised in Medfield and graduated from Medfield High School. He went on to attend UMASS Amherst, where he developed a passion for Arboriculture. He spent much of his career working for the Town of Plymouth's Department of Public Works, Landscaping, and also enjoyed many years as a waiter at local establishments, including the Barker Tavern and the Dan'l Webster Inn.
Curt was a die-hard New England sports fan, an avid reader of science fiction, and a lover of the outdoors. His quick wit, sense of humor, and generosity of spirit inspired countless people, and his love for his family was the cornerstone of his life.
Curt proudly raised his family in Plymouth and was a loyal friend to many including Bill W. He was committed to his sobriety and developed strong friendships within the sober community.
In celebration of his life, Curt's children will plant a tree in his honor, fulfilling his wish to have his ashes spread over a "pretty tree". Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Curt's memory may be made to The American Cancer Society. https://www.cancer.org/about-us/local/massachusetts.html
