Funeral services for Mr. Will Sam Shatzer will be held at 10:00a.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Griffin Funeral Home located at 911 Warren Drive in West Monroe, LA. Family will accept friends for visitation from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Monday, October 6, 2025, at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe. Interment will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park.
Will Sam Shatzer was born on December 13, 1935, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 89.
He was an avid hunter of ducks, rabbits, squirrels and racoons. He had a love for horses and spent many years raising Registered Quarter Horses at his home in West Monroe with his family.
Will Sam was proceeded in death by his father Clyde C. Shatzer and Mother Julia Loescher Shatzer of Monroe, Louisiana.
He is survived by his daughters "DJ" DeJuana Bush and husband Randy of West Monroe, "Pudge" LaDonna Shatzer-Tunnell and husband Todd of Canton Texas.
Also left to cherish his memories include his grandchildren; Jesse Hatten and wife Meagan; Jessica Holloway and husband Matt of West Monroe; Cheyenne Tunnell of Canton Texas; Glenda Shatzer of Canton, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Hatten, Matt Holloway, Clint Littleton, Gerald "To Tall" Hendrix, Kevin 'Scooby" Caples and Wayne Rutledge.
Honorary pallbearers Roger Berry, Ray Dearman, Ernie Bruce, Doyle Nelson, Frank Morris, Johnny Jones, Todd Lawrence.
Speaking in honor of Will Sam will be Steve Hatten, Larry DeVille, and Todd Lawrence.
