William Shehane Obituary

William Darwin Shehane

September 10, 1945 - December 4, 2025

Mooresville, North Carolina - Bill Shehane, 80, of Mooresville, formerly of Cramerton, left for his heavenly home on December 4th, 2025 after several years of declining health.

Bill was born September 10, 1945 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Otis Shehane and Nell Strawn Shehane. He was a 1963 graduate of West Mecklenburg High school. Bill married the love of his life, Diane, sixty-one years ago. They made many wonderful memories during their adventures to many places over the years, but his favorite place of all was his cabin in Virginia. There he enjoyed spending time with family and his special group of guys, the High Rock Wildlife Club. Bill was a sales manager for an auto parts company before starting D & B Supply, a business that he was passionate about and loved. He and Diane worked together for many years in their business. His sense of humor, integrity, and love for others will always be remembered. We will especially miss the stories that he loved to tell.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel and a reception will be held immediately after at the funeral home.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Bill (Renae); daughter, Jennifer (John); and brother- in-law, Tony (Tammy) that he raised as his son; grandchildren, William, Brianna, and Blane; sister-in-law, Nancy Bailey; and nephews, Jeff and Greg. He especially loved a group of dear friends affectionately known as the Golden Gang.

A special thanks to his caregivers CeCe, Andrea, and Mallory who cared for him with love and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the charity of your choice.
