William H. Sladden, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 20, 2025, in Raritan Township, NJ. Born on September 9, 1965, in Flemington, NJ, Bill was a lifelong resident of the area, leaving a memorable mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A proud graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1983, Bill went on to forge a rewarding career as a Foreman for Strober Roofing & Maintenance. His dedication to his craft and strong work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike.
Bill’s passion for his work was matched only by his artistry with sheet metal. Although he worked with various materials, his true love lay in copper projects, crafting windows and bird houses that adorned other homes and brought joy to countless families. His creativity and skill made each piece he created a cherished item.
An avid sports fan, Bill passionately supported the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Vikings, sharing in the excitement and camaraderie of being a devoted follower of his teams. He also cherished the moments spent with his family on trips to the shore, where he enjoyed crabbing, creating lasting memories that would be fondly recalled by his loved ones.
Traveling brought its own rewards for Bill, as he reveled in the simple pleasure of finding a fountain Diet Coke, a small joy that highlighted his appreciation for life’s little things.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Hunt) Sladden, and his three children: Ashley Salopek, her husband Arpi and daughter Iyla of Stockton NJ; Kelly Williams and her husband Thomas and daughter Juliet of Dover NJ; and Sydney Sladden and her spouse Peyton Osborn of Evans Mills NY. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Sladden of Ewing NJ and his sister, Kathleen Conlin of Spring Hill Tennessee.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William F. Sladden and Margaret (Horn) Sladden. Their love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable person he became.
A visitation in honor of Bill will take place on February 7, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, located at 147 Main St, Flemington, NJ 08822. Interment will be private.
Cremation services took place privately under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
