William Max "Mac" Smith, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, left this world on August 25, 2025, at the age of 74, in Chickasha, OK. Born on July 18, 1951, in Rush Springs, OK, Mac was known for his kind heart, humorous spirit, and interesting tales that captured the attention of everyone around him.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Rush Springs Church of Christ, with Kevin Worden officiating. Burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery, all arrangements have been entrusted to the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Rush Springs, between the hours of 1:00 PM- 7:00 PM.

Mac graduated from Sterling Public Schools and furthered his education by obtaining a bachelor's degree in art and business. His commitment to his country was evident through his service in the United States Navy, and he continued his life of service as a dedicated mail carrier, eventually retiring from the United States Postal Service.

A devout Christian, Mac lived his faith through his actions, always extending a helping hand and a smile to those in need. His interests were as diverse as his personality; he was an active member of the American Legion and NALC-458. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and gardening, and he could often be found rummaging through estate sales, adding to his collections. Mac was an avid supporter of OU and Rush Springs sporting events, and he cherished the times he played baseball.

Family was the cornerstone of Mac's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Smith of the home, his daughters Teri McGregor and husband Chris of Cement, Chancie Davis and husband Jeremy of Marlow, and Ashley Womack and husband Carl of Norman. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Montana Barrett, Christopher Blades, Cameron Blades, Madison Davis, Chance McGregor, Cody Womack, Alora Womack, Bailey Davis, and great-grandchildren Cade, Parker, Kash McGregor, Sage Moss, Jackson Barrett, Archer Blades, Foster Blades, Tommy Blades, and Emma Blades. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers Clifford Smith and wife Mary of Chickasha, Larry Smith and wife Julie of Rush Springs, Rondle Smith and wife Francis of Cyril, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Garland Smith and Nellie Ruth Bennett, his father C.B. Haggard, sister Sharon Fowler, nephews Jerry Smith and Rondle Ray, nieces Sharla Smith and Cindy Smith, and granddaughter Cierra Moss, Mac's memory will be honored by all who knew him.

The Rush Springs Watermelon Festival was a highlight each year for Mac, where he enjoyed the festivities and the company of his community. His love for playing dominoes, reading the newspaper, and simply spending time with his family are memories that will be treasured forever.

Pallbearers will be: Chris McGregor, Jeremy Davis, Carl Womack, Cameron Blades, Josh Barrett, and Jessie Myers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Clifford Smith, Rondle Smith, Larry Smith, Chris Blades, Terry Smith, C.J. Smith, Joe Cook, Ralph Moore, Jeff Frost, Chance McGregor.
