William Snedeker Obituary

William R. "Bill" Snedeker passed away on November 17, 2006 in Scottsdale. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on April 19, 1924. He served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps during World War II. Afterwards, he graduated from Indiana State University and moved to Arizona in 1958. Bill retired from Salt River Project in 1989, and then from the State of Arizona Division of Emergency Management in 2003. He served as a Land Consultant for the Salt River Project up until his final illness. He was a long time member of the Arizona Right of Way Association. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann and two sons, William R. II (Billy), Shane Alan and two grandchildren. Services will be conducted by Father Philip Carlson of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the Messinger Mortuary Chapel, 7601 E. Indian school Road in Scottsdale. Visitation will be one hour earlier at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in memory of Bill, to the American Cancer Society, 2929 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Sign the Guest Book at eastvalleytribune.com

I had the joy of first meeting Bill when he worked for ADEM, he was a wonderful mentor and friend. I will always remember his occasional surprise candy bars as well! Such a caring and fun person he was! I will surely miss him! My prayers are with you and your family. May the great spirit be with you in this time of need. Peace be with you all.
