William "Bill" Robert Snyder passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 96.

He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Joyce Homme Snyder and father of the late William "Billy" Snyder and his brother the late David Snyder, Maurice Snyder and Martha Vaughan.

Born at home in Elkins Park, PA, Bill was the cherished son of the late Maurice Snyder and Lena Black Snyder

After graduating from Cheltenham High School, he followed a path of hard work and craftsmanship, beginning his training as an operating engineer and joining the union in 1950. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to found Huntingdon Valley Landscaping, a business he didn't just own, but truly loved and nurtured for more than 44 years.

Perhaps the greatest hallmark of Bill's life was his quiet strength and unwavering commitment to his country and his community. This lifelong journey of service began at age 21 when he answered the call to enlist in the United States Army, serving with honor during the Korean Conflict.

Bill's love and commitment to community service began in 1969 with his appointment to the Doylestown Planning Commission, marking the start of over 50 years of dedicated involvement in local and national circles. He served with distinction as a Doylestown Supervisor for 6 years and held the trusted role of Bucks County Treasurer for over 36 years. A pillar of the Pennsylvania Republican Party, he served as a committeeman for 30 years. Among his most treasured memories were his roles as a Delegate to the Dallas convention for President Reagan and an Alternate Delegate in New Orleans for President George H.W. Bush. When President Reagan visited Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine, Bill was honored to serve as the treasurer for the President's Advance Team.

Beyond the titles, Bill was truly a master at the art of building relationships. His warmth and leadership extended through the Republican National Committee, the Bucks County Republican Committee (where he served on the Board of Trustees), and the Doylestown, Pennridge, and Palisades Republican Committees.

He found great fellowship and purpose as a member of the Doylestown Masonic Lodge No. 245, the Rajah Temple-Shriners, The National League of Masonic Clubs, Aircraft Square Club No. 963, and Doylestown Royal Arch Chapter No. 270. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of the Loyal Order of the Moose, the National Rifle Association, and was particularly proud to have founded the original Bucks County charter for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Bill enjoyed hunting, going to house and farm auction weekly, collecting small antique cars and memorabilia and working outside. He could repair most things around the house and just loved "working" and keeping busy.

Bill was a devoted husband who loved his wife deeply and faithfully. He loved and took pride in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill was a man of deep faith and strong convictions, living honestly and with integrity every day of his life. His example will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his step-children; Christy Tkach and her husband Mike of DE, Tonia Richard and her husband David Gross of Carversville, PA, and Ronald Tiech and his wife Diane of Doylestown, PA. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

His services and interment will be held privately for the family in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
