William Alonzo Spence Jr., affectionately known as Willy, passed away peacefully late Saturday night at his home with Unified Community Connections.
Born on July 16, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the beloved son of William Spence and Viola (Boston) Spence. William lived a full and joyful life surrounded by people who cared deeply for him.
He loved spending his days with staff and friends-whether he was out fishing, attending church, shopping, or simply enjoying one-on-one time with those around him. William had a gift for bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. His warm spirit and kind heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
William truly adored the staff who supported him and shared a special bond with each person he met. His presence brought light to every room and his friendship will be deeply missed by the Unified Community Connections family.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 11 AM until noon. The funeral service will follow at noon.
