Fort Ashby, WV-
Heaven gained a beautiful angel on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Donna Jean Pyles, 79, of Fort Ashby, passes away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband and children. Donna was always up to the daily challenges and pushed forward, not letting adversities get in the way.
Born at home in Shanks, WV, on November 7, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Arthur and Pearl Estella (Hott) Combs.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Combs, and her sisters, Frances Kesner, Betty Ludwig, and Ruth Abe.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, David; two sons; Darren and Daniel; granddaughter, Emily Pyles and grandson, Evan Pyles. Also, Hanna Pyles (wife of Daniel) and two children; daughter, Ava, husband Paul and their daughter Wrenlee Rohrbaugh and son, Elijah Rexrode; nieces and nephews, Shannon Combs, Lana Crites, Vanessa Haines, Valerie Combs-Hinkle, Jimmy See, Loretta Brinker, Richard Carter, Carol-Ann, Teddy, and David Ludwig and their Families.
Donna attended Hampshire High School in Romney, and Scott's International School of Beauty in Cumberland.
She took care of many patrons in her beauty shop, Mirror's Image in Fort Ashby.
Donna was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Driving past her home, one couldn't help but be in awe of the beautiful flower beds and thriving gardens. She loved to decorate – her home was nothing short of spectacular with the silk floral arrangements and crafts she had made herself. Donna took pride in her home, but she truly loved crafting and decorating for others. She found many ideas on her shopping trips as well as on Pinterest and while working on new projects would frequently say, "who has more fun than us?" Donna also loved looking at recipes and making big family dinners. For many years, she organized the "Combs" family reunions. Donna and Dave were always willing to jump in and help anyone as many in the community can attest.
As per her wishes, Donna will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WVU Hospice online at wvumedicine.org/homecare or mailed to WVU Hospice-Potomac Valley, 100 Pin Oak Lane, Keyser, WV 26726.
Condolences to the family may be posted after Donna's obituary on www.upchurchfh.com
