William "Bill" Howard Stainbrook, 67 of Franklin, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, June 27, 2025 at Greenwood Healthcare Center in Greenwood. Bill was surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born February 12, 1958 in Franklin, Indiana to Homer "Howard" Stainbrook, Jr. and Elizabeth Ann (Smith) Stainbrook King. He is survived by his daughter, Amberley Dawn Stainbrook Peterson (Alex) of Paragon; his sister, Deena Jo Stainbrook Wilham (Jeff) of Martinsville; brother, Robert Keith Stainbrook (Kim) of Greenwood and step-father, William D. King of Franklin; two grandchildren Logan Wesley Smith and Gwendolyn Faith O'Dell; several nieces and nephews, Jeffrey R. Wilham (Samantha) of Franklin, Jacey Wilham of Franklin, Ashley Nicole Stainbrook of Greenwood and Korey M. Stainbrook (Amber) of Martinsville; great nieces and nephews, Devin R. Wilham of Franklin, Chase Balmer of Greenwood, Zoey Stainbrook of Martinsville and Gracie Stainbrook of Martinville and Brailyn Mathena of Nineveh. He was preceded in passing by his parents and grandparents. Bill attended Franklin Community High School. He completed his GED a few years after joining the U.S. Army. Bill loved hunting and fishing with his buddies. He also loved playing the Hoosier Lottery. Bill was employed by Johnson Memorial Hospital while in school. He worked many years for Blackmore and Buckner in Indianapolis and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union No. 20. Bill's wishes were not to have a memorial service. A Celebration of Bill's life will be Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205, 1200 Park Avenue, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Military Honors will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12th at the American Legion. A private family burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Research, c/o Franklin Elks Lodge No. 1818, 56 E. Jefferson Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131 or to any charity of donor's choice. Expressions of caring and kindness may be received to the family at www.flinnmaguiire.net
