William "Bill" Edward Starnes took his final ride into the sunset, well actually the moonlight, on the night of March 30th 2024. Billy's big smile was his passport into every heart he encountered. Billy could coax any engine to life and laughter into any room. He knew that the most precious cargo he ever carried was his family and his friends who became family.
Billy left many loved ones behind to navigate the rest of this adventure without him including the love of his Life, old lady, and wife Jodie Melton Mills. Children William Shannon Starnes and Robert Daniel Starnes. Step-children Brody Mills, Alex, Cameron, and Dustie (Destiny) Roland, granddaughter Anastasia Marie Adams his mother Terrie Blaisdell, Second Father Paul Pistorino, Grandmother Virginia Buttler, Sister Georgia Starnes, Step-siblings Megan and Anthony Pistorino, Aunts Paula Cash and Betty Buttler, Uncle Herbert Cash, as well as many adopted children, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, friends, and pets.
His final ride concluded with a heavenly reunion with those who passed before him including his father William B. Starnes, maternal grandfather James Buttler, paternal Grandmother Jessie Starnes, uncle Ralph "Eddie" Buttler, nephew Michael Alan Searles lll, father & mother in law Richard & Loyce Mills as well as some extended family and friends.
Billy's family plans to honor his wishes by trading out the traditional funeral for a couple of parties in his honor. To accommodate as many of this ramblin mans friends and family as possible One will be has been the south at his home in big springs and the other will be held at a later date in the North in Salisbury Massachusetts.
His family extends a big thank you to Myers & Smith Funeral Home for keeping pace after Billy's final lap. And to the one who always lived life full throttle we tip our hats, and helmets to you. Ride on Billy until we meet again at our final destination.
