Steelman
YADKINVILLE- Mr. William Paul Steelman, 78, of Lone Hickory passed away peacefully Thursday January 30, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 10, 1946 in Forsyth County as the last of 13 children born to the late William Tom and Lucy Faye Ledbetter Steelman. Mr. Steelman was a US Army veteran serving in the 20th Reconnaissance Squadron, 14th Armored Calvary stationed at Bad Kissenger, Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a true adventure seeker, loved riding motorcycles, or working on them and cars as well. Mr. Steelman enjoyed spending time with his family especially eating out or watching ball games together. He had been attending Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sarah Talley Steelman, and by his 10 brothers and sisters. Surviving are his son, Kevin Steelman; his daughter, Kelly Steelman; grandson, Lane Steelman; granddaughter, Katelynn Steelman; his sister, Barbara Steelman (Ricky) Royall; and his brother, Jimmy (Patti) Steelman. Mr. Steelman will receive friends from 4:30-5:30 PM Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A graveside service will be 3:00 PM Friday at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Joel Riley and Rev. Bert Mathis. Full Military Honors will be given by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
