William John Strachan, age 89, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at The Bells Assisted Living in Almont. Bill was born October 3, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of William and Helen (Menzer) Strachan. Bill married Patricia Stephenson, and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage before her passing on March 6, 2024.
Bill attended Cass Tech High School. After graduation, he went to college, where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Aerodynamic Engineering. Bill was the President of the Lions Club, and a life member. In his free time, Bill enjoyed camping and canoeing, and was an avid stamp and coin collector; he loved his family very much and was a generous man who would do anything for anyone.
Bill is survived by his children, Ian (Becky) Strachan, James (Brenda) Strachan, and Heather (late husband William) Dombrowski Jr., grandchildren, Jeff Strachan, Jeremy Strachan, Justan (Nicole) Strachan, James Strachan, Ryan Dombrowski and Zachary Dombrowski, great-grandchildren, Aiyana, Jayden, Mia, and Zoe Strachan. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, parents William and Helen Strachan, mother and father in-law, Jack and Matilda Stephenson, and son-in-law Bill Dombrowski Jr.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 from Noon to 4:00PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
