William Ervin Sturdivant

William Ervin Sturdivant Jr. (aka Junior), 55, of Monroe NC, passed away on December 26, 2025. Junior was born on April 14, 1970 to the late William Ervin Sturdivant and his mother Lula Ann and her husband Larry Tilman of Marshville NC, and is preceded in death by his grandmother Mary Ruth Sturdivant, stepmother Shirley Ann Sturdivant, stepbrothers the late Benjamin Lamont Sturdivant and William Tyrone Sturdivant his uncles Wayne Henry Sturdivant and Terry Lee Sturdivant and aunt Carolyn Ann Sturdivant. Although Junior struggled with some things in his life, he always made himself available to provide assistance to others when asked. May you rest in peace now and know that your struggles are over and you are finally free. Your kindness, strength, and generous spirit will never be forgotten. Junior leaves to cherish his memories, his son Tyler Sturdivant of Charlotte NC, his step sisters Genine Clyburn of Monroe NC, Laurelle and her husband Eugene Lowery of Monroe NC, and Dawn Morrow. His Aunts and Uncles Donnell Sturdivant of Monroe NC, Graylen and Mary Oxner of Monroe NC, James (Pete) and Debra Sturdivant of Harrisburg NC, David Sturdivant of Wadesboro NC, Anthony and Dolly Griggs of Angier NC, Sibyl Sturdivant, Wingate NC and Edward and Linda Ritter of Boise ID. Junior has a host of cousins who loved him dearly: Hattie Sturdivant, Donnell Sturdivant Jr, Yolanda Sturdivant, Mary Oliver, Melissa Thorpe, Ashley Sturdivant, Shunovia Sturdivant, Devon Sturdivant, Marcus Sturdivant, David Sturdivant, Desmond Sowell, Brittany Kennard, Shunterria Sturdivant, Donnard Covington, Dejericka Covington, Neenah Wright, Deon Sturdivant, Litonya Ritter, Shuntavis Sturdivant, Krystle Miller, Dorrell Dunbar, Terry Sturdivant Jr and Tamia Sturdivant. Junior leaves behind a host of family and friends who may not be named in this document that loved and cherished him dearly. 

A Public Viewing will be held from 12:00PM until 12:45PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. Following a Homegoing Service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, January 10, 2025 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.
