Roy Lee Helms

Roy Lee Helms, 86, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He was born March 18, 1939 to the late George and Ada Helms.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 10:45am followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00am on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. Mr. Helms will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Cemetery immediately following the service.

Roy was a loving husband, daddy, and Paw Paw. He never had a negative word to say about anyone, and he never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face that would light up any room. Roy would always talk about his family and kept pictures of them all in his wallet.

As a dedicated member of Centerview Baptist Church, Roy was always serving within the church and remained faithful to his Lord and Savior. Roy also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like riding around on his lawn mower while cutting the grass and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him the most.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Helms, children, Selena Thomas (Robin), Stanley Helms (Simone), and Sharon Henson (Scott); six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centerview Baptist Church, 2711 Old Pageland Marshville Rd, Marshville, NC 28103.
