William Bernard Suchy was born on August 8, 1939 on the family farm in Millerville MN, the son of Paul and Mary (Revering) Suchy.
Bill met the love of his life, Lorraine Gergen at Schlief’s Little City Dance Hall. Bill and Lorraine were married in New Trier, Minnesota on September 28, 1963. The couple lived in South St. Paul for 36 years where they raised their 5 sons. Bill worked at Armour Meat Packing Plant in South St Paul for 5 years. He then went on to work at John A. Dalsin Commercial Roofing Company for 34 years with the last 10 years as Chief Superintendent.
At the age of 56 he retired due to knee problems and moved to their lake home in Millerville MN. During his retirement Bill was very active in the Millerville community serving on the Seven Dolors Catholic Church Parish Council, the Millerville Sportsmen Club and volunteered at Heartland Orthopedic Center for 5 1/2years.
Bill loved fishing and hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He took some of his boys out West to Montana and Wyoming where they hunted deer and antelope. Bill and Lorraine traveled extensively through the US and Europe with friends and family and also did many fishing trips to Canada with his friends and his boys. He will be remembered for his smoked fish, as well as making the best pickles, deer, pork, blood sausage and homemade wine. Bill enjoyed golfing with his wife, sons, and with his men’s league. Due to back issues Bill had to give up the hobby.
The Suchy family would like to give a BIG thank you to Shawn and Ryan Lehn for always being so generous with their time; always lending a helping hand to Bill and Lorraine when needed as Bill was not able in his later years.
