William H. Sweeny

William H. Sweeny, age 82 of Olmsted Township, went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Beloved husband of Norma (nee Somma) for nearly 30 years; loving father of Neil (Cassie) and Russell (Christine); grandfather of Hayden and Connor (Chloe); great-grandfather of Meredith; dear brother of Kathy Henry (Bill) and Dave (Ann); uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Anna (nee Okenka) and his brother, Rich.

Bill retired as an engineering manager for Bettcher Manufacturing after 30 years. He was in engineering management for several other companies, including Cooper Industries, AP Auto Parts, and Spaulding Sporting Goods. Bill was also a diemaker by trade. He was proud to be called a "gear head."

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7500 State Rd., Parma, OH 44134. If you decide to send a floral gift, please have it delivered to the church.

A funeral service will be held for Bill at 10:30am on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7500 State Rd., Parma, OH 44134. Family will receive guests at the church one hour prior to the service at 9:30am. Interment to follow at Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley.
