William J. Talmadge of Port Jervis passed away on September 28, 2025 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 75 years old.

The son of the late Jean and Raymond Talmadge, he was born on January 13, 1950 in Dover, NJ.

Bill lived a vibrant life filled with service, music, and love for his family. He dedicated his career to the Port Jervis School District, retiring as a Maintenance Mechanic. A community member, Bill served as a volunteer fireman with Excelsior Engine Company #5 in Port Jervis, embodying courage and selflessness. His faith guided him as a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Port Jervis, where he found spiritual connection and purpose. Music was Bill's true passion, bringing joy as a talented drummer and vocalist with bands like Lenny Frank & The Rhythm Rockers, The Past Tells, Hot Rod and the Hula Hoops, captivating audiences with his rhythm and voice. An avid bowler, he was a member of the league at Minisink Lanes, and as a golfer, he enjoyed his time on the greens. Yet, above all his accomplishments, Bill's greatest joy was being "Papa," a devoted grandfather whose love for his grandchildren shone brightest in his life.

In addition to his parents Bill was predeceased in life by his sisters Grace Harris, Darlene Estes, brother Frank Talmadge, his mother and father in law Chris & Elizabeth DeVries, sister in law Christy Kessock along with her husband Michael and brother in law Robert DeVries.

Beloved husband of Judith Talmadge. Devoted father of William Talmadge, Samantha Talmadge (Cody Allhiser) and Alexander Talmadge (Miranda Kempf). Cherished Papa of Madison & Leah Allhiser. Dear brother of Glen Talmadge (April), Keith Talmadge (Jennifer) and Michael Talmadge (Kathy). Fond brother in law of Richard DeVries (Lorraine) and Nancy DeVries (Nancy Brown). Bill was an uncle and great uncle who will be missed.
