William John Thielbar

Our dearly beloved father, Age 67, life-long resident of Coon

Rapids, Minnesota, passed away on the 17th of November,

2025. He is survived by his three children,

daughter Nissa Thielbar, son Dieter Thielbar, and son

Jowachem Thielbar.

William, originally born in Heidelberg Germany, was a

venerable member of the Coon Rapids and Hockey

community. Starting from a young age, William would start skating and then go onto

coach hockey in the Coon Rapids program at age 18. He would go on to coach many

teams, including: Boys Bantam, Jr. Gold, the Bandits Rec League, and started the

Coon Rapids Girls Hockey program in 1993. Later, he would also go on to coach in the

Minnesota Special Hockey League. He coached hockey for over 40 years, and while

doing so, touched the hearts and lives of many.

He was a dedicated father and grandfather as well as a friend and mentor to many. He

enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, and dogs, while socializing with friends,

and relishing in the tranquility of the great up north.

He was always there if you needed him and he could find a way to make anyone laugh

or smile. He will be deeply missed.

Survived by his daughter Nissa Bormes, sons, Jowachem Thielbar and Dieter Thielbar,

and grandchildren, Colton Bormes and Avery Bormes.

The funeral service will be held on Friday December 12th at the Washburn-McReavy

Coon Rapids Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd, MN 55433.
