William Thoden Obituary
William was born in Bayonne and raised in Jersey City before moving to Hillsborough in 1956. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was employed as a civil engineer for Frank Briscoe Co. Inc. in South Orange for over 34 years, retiring in 1993. He became an engineering consultant after his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, taking care of his yard, learning the latest technology, researching genealogy, and most of all spending quality time with his family and sharing stories.
He lived a long, fulfilling life, loved his family and friends, and will be dearly missed.
He is predeceased by his son James "Jimmy" Thoden, brother Edward "Stuart" Thoden, and daughter-in-law Vicki Thoden.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years Clare, his children Richard, Jean Bordt (Willy), Kenneth, and Roy (Kim), grandchildren Troy, Ross, Maria, Bryan, William, Kayla, Jake and Luke, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services and visitation will be private at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville. Interment will be held at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
