Inge Thoden

With heavy hearts, our beloved mother and grandmother, Inge Emma Thoden, passed away on May 6, 2025, at the incredible age of 90. Inge was born on October 31, 1934, in Kummersdorf, Germany to Minna and Franz Mietkhe. Inge spent her early life in Germany and immigrated at the tender age of 17 to Toronto, Canada, where she met her beloved husband Heinrich Thoden. Henry and Inge had two children born in Toronto, Pierre (Jeany) and Heidi (Dennis) In 1963, they immigrated to New York where they had their daughter, Rita (Frank). Together Inge and Henry had seven beautiful grandchildren and one great grandchild: Nicholaus (Torrie), Christy (Dominick), Christopher, Matthew, Tyler, Kevin, Sydney and Freya (great granddaughter) She is survived by her one sister, Kate Schaffreth, who still resides in her birth town in Germany. Inge is predeceased by her loving daughter, Heidi, and her beloved husband Henry.
Inge was a source of strength and love for all who knew her, especially her family. Inge touched countless lives with her generous spirit, warmth and compassion. She could not do enough for those she loved. She will be missed dearly and will remain eternally in our hearts and memories.
Services and celebration of life will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary in Ogden, UT on Wednesday, May 14,2025 from 5pm-9pm
