William T. "Bill" Tobin

William T. "Bill" Tobin, of Vero Beach, FL and Pittsburgh, PA, died on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

Bill was the son of the late Ellen Fenlon and Paul W. Tobin. He was a graduate of The Lawrenceville School and Yale University.

Bill devoted his professional life to retailing, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He began his career at the M'O'Neil Co., where he rose to become President and CEO, and later served in the same roles at Kaufmann's Department Store. Beyond his work, Bill was committed to civic life, serving on numerous boards, including Carnegie Mellon University, the Pittsburgh Symphony, and The Eye and Ear Hospital of Pittsburgh.

He cherished his summers in Hessel, MI, and had a lifelong love of travel. An enthusiastic tennis and golf player, Bill was an active member of many clubs and enjoyed the friendships he made through them.

Bill will be remembered for his insatiable curiosity, his wonderful sense of humor, and above all, his deep and unwavering dedication to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen; his sons, Kip and Brad; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ellen Cooly.
