William Edward Truitt, Jr. "Eddie", age 68, of Lewes, DE, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital in Sewell, NJ. after suffering a stroke. He was born in Lewes, DE, son of the late William Edward Truitt. Sr. and the late Alice Elizabeth Best Truitt.
Eddie worked beginning at an early age at the Best Equipment Company in Lewes, DE until its closing a few years ago. He was known for his ability to work as a mechanic on all types of farm machinery and small engines. In his spare time, he loved farming and worked for many of the local farmers in different capacities over the years. His love for animals was especially seen in his devotion to his many canine and feline friends.
He is survived by his wife Karen Vignola Truitt; two sisters, Betty Reynolds of Milford, DE and Emily Derickson of Milton, DE; nephews Anthony Reynolds Jr. of Milford, DE, Chuck Derickson of Millsboro, DE, niece Celina McHugh of Milton, DE and many other grand nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a niece Glori Davies.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 20, 2024, at 11 AM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where viewing will begin at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
