William Norris Truitt

William Norris Truitt, aged 63, of Salisbury, Maryland and formerly of Bishopville, passed away at home on February 18, 2026. Born on February 11, 1963 he was the son of the late Norris and Margaret Scarborough Truitt. William earned his high school diploma from Stephen Decatur High School, Class of 1981 and dedicated many years of service to the retail industry.

He was a former member of the Selbyville Elks Lodge #2173 where William held the esteemed position of Past Exalted Ruler, reflecting his leadership and devotion to his community. He will be remembered not only for his professional contributions but also for his warm spirit and the friendship he offered those around him.

He enjoyed collecting comic books, trains and lighthouses. He loved to work out doors with his flowers and plants.

William is survived by his sister, Sandra West (Edward); his nieces, Michelle Trivits and Cassandra West; and his nephew, Edward West Jr.

Visitation will take place on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, DE, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm.
