William L. Uphouse
Age 84 of New Lenox, IL passed away Friday, January 16, 2026. Bill was born in Des Moines, IA to the late Charles W. and late Maxine A. (nee Quivey) Uphouse.
Devoted husband of Jessie “Jill” (nee LeMaster) Uphouse; loving father of Eric (Anita) Uphouse, Stephen (Brenda) Uphouse, Christopher (Kathleen McCall) Uphouse, John Uphouse, and Deborah Uphouse; cherished grandfather of Veronica “Ronni” Uphouse, Chuck (Nikki) Uphouse, Cheryl Uphouse, Karsten Richmond, Rebecca “Becky” Lewis, Joseph “Joey” Uphouse, Joshua “Josh” Uphouse, Jonah Uphouse, Gavin Uphouse, Isla Uphouse, Lughan Uphouse; and proud great grandfather of seven; loved uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Bill was a retired over the road truck driver and a U. S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Teamster’s Local 710 and the New Lenox American Legion Post 1977. Bill was a dedicated truck driver and devoted husband and father. He enjoyed working on cars and keeping his yard tidy. Bill loved history, classic movies, his dog Stubby, the Cleveland Browns, and debating the issues of the day. Witty and irascible, Bill was a man of high principle and deep faith who unhesitatingly sacrificed for his family and friends whenever necessary. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill’s name to the New Lenox American Legion would be appreciated. DONATE ONLINE
The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 4:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 7:00pm. Interment with full military honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
