William Patrick "Bill" Wachowiak

William "Bill" Patrick Wachowiak, age 72, of Roscommon, died on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his home.

Bill was born July 19, 1953, in Bay City, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Stachowiak) Wachowiak.

Bill married Cindy Bauer on August 6, 1982, in Hemlock, Michigan, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Bill enjoyed ice fishing and fly fishing as well as camping and hikes with his family. He was a contributing member of The Blues Foundation, Arbor Day Foundation, and the National Audubon Society. Bill enjoyed caring for his acreage that he called Our Park, and planting trees from the Soil Conservation every spring.

Bill will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy of 43 years; daughter, Elizabeth and her spouse Dr. Nick Cook of Grand Rapids, Michigan; son, Phil Wachowiak of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sister, Catherine Wachowiak of Bay City, Michigan; as well as nieces and their spouses, cousins, and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM for a Memorial Service, with an hour of gathering prior, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.

If so desired, the family prefers memorial contributions be made in Bill's name to Roscommon Community Foundation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
