William J. Wagner

William J. Wagner died Sunday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. He passed surrounded by his family after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Patricia Calpin Wagner. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William T. and Violet Wagner. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and served in the United States Army. Bill was a proud member of the Scranton fire department for 25 years. He was passionate about his hobbies and greatly enjoyed motorcycles, creating art with stained glass, boating with family and vacations in the sun in Key West. Bill most of all valued his time spent with family and friends.

Bill was a proud and loving father and grandfather to his son William Wagner and wife Nicole Wagner, daughter Alyson Wagner Brown and husband Buzz Brown, granddaughters Lily and Emma Wagner. He was preceded in death by Sister Debbie Evans.

He leaves us stronger, braver, and forever greatful to call him Husband, Dad, and Grandpa.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Benedict's Church 1849 Newton Ransom Boulevard, Clarks Summit. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until mass time. Donations in lieu of flowers made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
