William Waugh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller and Miller Funeral Home - Hugo on Apr. 17, 2025.
William Jodie Waugh III died April 14, 2025, at age 67 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jodie was born on December 5, 1957, in Hugo, OK. He was one of seven children born to William Jodie Waugh Jr., and Pauline (Jones) Waugh Wright. Jodie graduated Soper High School, Class of 1976. He is preceded in death by his parents, chosen parents Lanning and Charlene Ishmael, son, Eric Waugh and sister, Donna Dominick.
Jodie married his sweetheart, Pamela Vandever August 15,1988 in Hugo, OK. He was a proud Army Veteran, dedicating 8 years to serving our country. Jodie is an honored member of the Choctaw Nation, whom he also recently retired from after 31 years of employment. Jodie was a faithful member of the Clayton Christian Church, where he not only worshipped but served – driving the bus and lending a helping hand wherever needed. He lived by the values he learned in uniform: duty, respect, integrity and courage. Even after his military service, those values echoed in every part of his life. Before he was a soldier, and long after he hung up his uniform, Jodie's love for ranching was instilled from a young age. He was a cowboy- heart and soul. Jodie was known for his knowledge of cattle, horses and willingness to share that knowledge with others. He was a devoted husband, proud father and loving papa who never missed a chance to pass on wisdom, tell a story, or share a laugh.
Jodie is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pam Waugh of Tuskahoma, OK; sons, Dustin Palmer and wife, Sherry of McAlester, OK, William Jodie "Joey" Waugh IV and wife, Christinia of Atwood, OK, Darrell Palmer and wife, Sadie of Tuskahoma, OK; daughters, Dawnya Brockman and husband, Randall of Blue Ridge, TX, Wendy Waugh of Tulsa, OK; chosen daughters, Rachel Scroggins and family and Nelli Conte; grandkids, Bret Parent, Chase Parent, Clay Parent, Twine Palmer, Rober Breshears, William Breshears, Lorna Breshears, Riggin Waugh, Calvin Palmer, Eldon Palmer, Memree Hatcher-Brockman, Shyla Hatcher-Brockman, Preston Black, Braxton Chumley, Brooklynn Simmons and Bradley Simmons; great grandkid, Henry Parent; sisters, Sue Haggerty of Hugo, OK, Jo Lehmann and husband, Austin of Fayetteville, NC, Barbara Lenoir and husband, Mike of Hugo, OK, Sherry Sessa of San Antonio, TX, Robbie Armijo and husband, Mickey of Murphy, TX along with numerous nieces and nephews and host of family, friends and loved ones.
