William “Bill” Anderson Weatherly, age 89, of Clayton, North Carolina, formerly of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his residence.
He was born in Hickory Flat, Mississippi on May 4, 1935 to the late Charles Everett Weatherly and the late Vinnie Mae Webb Weatherly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Weatherly, son, Billy Weatherly, and grandson in law, Gabe Sadi.
Mr. Weatherly was a Veteran of the United States Army and graduated from Embry Riddle University with a bachelor’s degree in aviation management. He retired from Petroleum Helicopters Inc. He was a devout member and deacon of Friendship Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening, driving, flying, sporting events, and spending time with family and neighbors.
He is survived by his children: Shana Key (husband Scott), Celia Howe (husband Charles), James Weatherly (wife Ann), Danny Weatherly (wife Becky), and Heather Hale (husband Brent). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Donde Dishong (husband David), Tanya Sadi, Shawn Trahan (wife Shelby), Jeremiah Howe (wife Krystian), Nicholas Howe, Severin Howe, Brandon Weatherly, Mary Weatherly, Cethlynn Weatherly, Blaize Hale, Layne Hale, and Talulah Hale. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; and brother, Jack Weatherly and Wife Evelyn.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. His grandson in law, Rev. David Dishong will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, until the start of the service.
Memorials may be made in his memory to: Vietnam Veterans.
