William Webb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home on Jan. 16, 2026.
William "Bill" George Webb was born to James and Doris (Brimlow) Webb on August 17, 1958.

Bill was a graduate from Marion Sr. High School, Class of 1976. He began his working career at Tempo Department Store in 1975 until it was destroyed by a fire in March of 1977. Bill enjoyed working for Tempo and had fond memories of all the friends that he made during that time. Bill then worked for the Youth Adult Conservation Corps at Crab Orchard Lake. Again, he enjoyed his time working there and fondly remembered all his friends made during his time of employment. Bill then spent the next forty-two and a half years in the retail industry until he was forced to retire due to health issues.

Bill was saved and baptized at Scottsboro Baptist Church in 1971. He was a fan of amateur and professional wrestling and was a proud member of Marion High School's very first wrestling team under Coach Alan North.

Bill loved to go to rock concerts, beginning at the age of sixteen until his death, with Lynard Skynyrd being his favorite. He also liked to bank fish the Dutchman Creek in Johnson County before it was made into Dutchman Lake in 1974. He also enjoyed to bank fish the farm ponds on top of the ridge from Dutchman Creek where his father was raised.

Bill was proud to be the great-great grandson of Fox Dan Webb, the elder of the Webb Clan of Johnson County.

Bill leaves behind his brother, Jim Webb and wife Tracy, brother, Dan Webb and wife Angie, sister, Mary Ann Taylor and husband Joel and a large extended family and many friends.
