Gary Griesbach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.
Gary Donald Griesbach, the Believer, 67, of Carterville, IL entered the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 10th, 2026. He was born to Donald & Jane Griesbach Appleton, WI.

In 1978, Gary married the love of his life, Sharon, and together they built a home rooted in faith, love, and hard work. They were blessed with eight children, seven who survive him on Earth, Jacob (Tiffany), Serah (Jonathan Stevens), Joshua (Heather), Shalisha (Joshua Wood), Gideon (Karina), Jeremiah (Hannah), and Gloryel (Jacob Marshall). Gabriel, along with Michael, whom he loved like an adopted son, rests with Jesus. Each child brought him immense joy and pride.

Gary treasured each of his grandchildren, Elijah (Sydney), Jael, Phinehas Gary, Lydia, Azariah, Caleb Stevens, Jedidiah Gary, Hosea, Johannah Wood, Leviticus Wood, Benjamin, Nina, Hezekiah, Michael, Noah, Gabriel Marshall, Miriam Marshall, and Matthias Marshall, and awaiting David Gary's arrival. Gary thanked God daily that every one of his children and their families knew Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Gary's first priority was always his Savior, Jesus Christ. He passionately pursued Scripture, and with studious devotion to the Word, taught his family Scripture and spiritual discernment. Placing great value on family, he gathered with them daily for dinner and prayer. While he also pioneered several churches across multiple states and ministered in multiple mediums, including in-person, via radio, and TV.

Ever innovative, he founded Garon Foods, Inc with Sharon, together building a business that reflected his drive, ingenuity, and attention to detail. Approaching problems with intelligence and creativity, he spent much of his life striving to build a better life for his family.

Gary made others laugh with quick-witted jokes, stories, and one-liners. Lively and adventurous, he never backed down from a challenge, whether in faith, family, or work.

Gary leaves behind a family who loves him deeply, including his siblings: Julie (Tony Vanden Heuvel), Kim (Ron Hakenjos), Lynn (Steve Schmidt), James (Regina) Griesbach, and Lori Lou (Kyle Loewenhagen). They rejoice in the assurance that he now rests safely and is fully healed in the arms of Jesus. His legacy of faith, courage, and love will continue through the lives he touched.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."
