William Henry (Bill) Weldon, 85, of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and formerly of Valdosta died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his home. He was born on April 13, 1927 in Lowndes County to the late Alonzo and Ethel Tarrant Weldon. Mr. Weldon was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and retired from Owen-Illinois after thirty four years of service. He was a man who loved his children and family. Mr. Weldon loved his home in Pigeon Forge and was known as "Daddy Bill" at Mill Creek Resort. He loved people and was known for his smile. Survivors include his son, Don Weldon and Donna Adams of Lake Park, two daughters and sons in law, Sandra and Freddy Dean of Lake Park, Jackie and Terry Roberts, Sr. of Pigeon Forge, TN., his grandchildren and their spouses, Sheri and Buddy Phillips, Fred and Kristy Dean, Candi and Bo Yeomans, Angie and Chris Forte, Emily Adams, Terry Roberts, Jr., Eric and Megan Smith, great grandchildren, Kalli Rae Dean, Destiny Yeomans, Austin Yeomans, Nadia Vining, Liam Vining, Cody Forte, Case Forte, Whitney Smith, Eric Smith, Jr., one brother and sister in law, Gene and Shirley Weldon of Danville, VA., three sisters in law, Margie Weldon of Hahira, Virginia Weldon of Valdosta and Jewel Weldon of Columbus, MS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Tucker Weldon and three brothers, Isaac Weldon, Dub Weldon and David Weldon. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, June 24, 2012 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Hughes and Mr. Freddy Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
