William Wheelbarger Obituary
He was born in Harrisonburg on March 13, 1948, and was a son of the late Wilmer Richard and Ruby Marie (Miller) Wheelbarger.
Sam graduated from Turner Ashby H.S. in 1967. He owned and operated Shades of Green Nursery. with his wife, Dena. Sam also enjoyed working as a building contractor, operating Tis The Season and The Miniature Cottage with Dena, his grandchildren, Maine fishing, and building dollhouses. Sam most recently worked one day a week at Waggy's Creek Recycling Center where he loved to share vegetables from his garden. He was an avid fisherman and loved cutting fire wood.
He was united in marriage to Diana "Dena" Lee Wheelbarger, on September 16, 1970.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Christopher (Cindy) Wheelbarger, and Sarah (Steven) Czipri; sister, Juanita May; three granddaughters, Kirsten Wheelbarger, Kimmi Czipri, and Ruby Czipri; and a great grandson, Montgomery Howdyshell.
The family will celebrate Sam's life on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at their home from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
