Martha Ann Wheelbarger

Martha Ann Wheelbarger, 92, of Williamsport, MD and formerly of Rockville, MD passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Homewood Retirement Center with her daughters by her side.
She was born on July 20, 1932, in Washington, D.C., to the late Henry Beckwith and Ann St. Claire (Smith) Wellons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dean Wheelbarger on December 19, 2020. They were married for 70 years.
Martha was a graduate of Anacostia High School in Washington, D.C.
She was employed as a secretary in the English & Guidance Departments at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, MD until her retirement in 1994.
Martha was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church Williamsport, MD. She served as an usher, lay reader, and a council member.
She is survived by her daughters Karen L. Wheelbarger and Kim A. Wheelbarger both of Hedgesville, WV; sisters Gloria St. Claire Binns of Summit Point, WV and E. Noreen Wellons of Stanardsville, VA; granddaughters Jennifer Anne and Jessica St. Claire; great grandchildren Nicholas, Dominick, Anthony, and Mackenzie.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son M. Kevin Wheelbarger; brother Richard M. Wellons; and "Maggie" the cat.
She will be privately interred with her husband at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in Flintstone, MD.
