William James "Bill" Whitaker passed away on October 3rd, 2022 at the age of 57, in his hometown of Parchment, Michigan.After a long battle with cancer, Bill passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family.
More than anything, Bill loved spending time with his family. Some of his favorite memories were made at deer camp, the summer cottage, and on his many trips to northern Michigan.
One of Bill's greatest passions was coaching football. Bill spent over fifteen years of his life involved with the Parchment Rocket Football program, both as a coach and as director. Bill always had a love for the game of football, and genuinely enjoyed passing on his knowledge and passion to future generations. So many young people felt fortunate to call him coach over the years, including his sons and nephews.
Bill is survived by his wife, Paula Whitaker; mother and father, William and Bette Whitaker; sisters, Laura Sapp, and Deborah Lindstrom (Jason Lindstrom); children Cody Whitaker, Caleb Story, Sarah Story and Tadd Kaczmarek; granddaughtersBrooklyn, Alyza, Ariana, and Ruby; and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including long time best friend Scott Carpenter.
