Mr. William Douglas “Doug” Willard age 96, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.

 A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at one o’clock pm in the McRae Chapel with Bro. Shannon Pullen and Bro. Wayne White officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Attalla. A visitation will be on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

 Mr. Willard was born in St. Clair County, Alabama on July 16, 1928, to Carl & Hazel Wood Willard. He was a retired manager for an L.P. Gas Company. He was known for his love of gardening and sharing his produce with others. He liked to tell stories and would share them with anyone willing to listen. He was a very strong man who cared for others and never wanted to be a bother to anyone. He was “one of the good ones”.

 Mr. Willard is survived by Daughters: Linda Brooks of Huntsville, Sandra & Donnie Dobbins of Birmingham, and Kathy & Faron Odell of Boaz, 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Brothers: David & Kathy Willard of Hokes Bluff, and James Willard of South Carolina and a Host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Carl & Hazel Willard, wife; Juanita Willard, Daughter: Peggy Miller, Son: Joe Patton, Sister: Dean Willard and Brothers: Lewis Willard, Tom Willard, and Robert Willard.

 The pallbearers will be Brad Dobbins, Justin Odell, Clay Brown, Mark Holland, David Willard, Jr. and Brian Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Talton, Jayson Berger, Pat Brown, and Leeman Perry

 In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
