William John Logan was born on April 20, 1960, in Morris, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Catherine (Sauter) Logan. Willy was baptized and confirmed in his Catholic faith and received his education at Chokio Public schools until the age of 13, when the family moved to Morris. Willy continued his education in Morris. After his schooling, Willy worked for Trademark Homes, Roart Plastics, Superior Industries and Morris Lumber. In addition to his day job, Willy also freelanced as a roofer – Willy’s Roofing. In 1997, because of physical restrictions, Willy was forced into retirement. He continued to live in Morris.
Willy enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanics, and attending the races. He had a strong work ethic, was a hard worker, very down to earth, practical, and many would also say, stubborn and intense. Willy was a recovering alcoholic, which was a huge part of his identity – good or bad. In addition, he had the biggest heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Willy died on Tuesday, February 3, 2025, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris; he was 64 years old.
Willy is survived by his siblings: Joe (Sharon) Logan of Sioux Falls, SD, Stan Logan of Morris, Deb (Rick) Brustuen of Cyrus, Robert (Kelly) Logan of Cheyenne, WY, and Christopher Logan of Cyrus; 13 nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth and Catherine; stepfather, Robert Whelan; and brothers: Larry Logan, Ronnie Logan, and Daniel ‘Boone’ Logan.
