William Daniel "Danny" Wright, 80, passed away peacefully at home in Doylestown, after a period of declining health on Friday, August 18, 2023. Danny was born in Marshallville, Ohio to Everett and Pearl Wright on April 10, 1943. He was a long time Barberton resident, retired from the Ohio Brass and a lifelong member of The Salvation Army of Barberton. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Don and Raymond; sister, Sadie; daughter, Kathy Dawson and beloved wife, Mary Lou, who may have paused from playing Bingo long enough to start bossing him around again. Danny is survived by his children, Charlotte (Melvin) Husk, Johnny (June Gable) Moore, Rich (Amy) Moore, Susan (Bob) Copen and Curtis Wright; brothers, Hubert and Willis; sister, Helen; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his daughter, Charlotte and son-in-law, Mel, for the excellent care they have given him over the last several years and his doctors and the staff at the Sanctuary in Wadsworth. Danny's funeral service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Pastor Bryan DeMichael officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of his service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Food Pantry at Salvation Army Barberton.
