William Andrew Yarbrough, Jr. passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 57. A celebration of his life will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street in Shreveport, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Born on February 15, 1968, Andrew was a lifelong resident of Belcher and a proud third-generation farmer. He worked the family farm alongside his father and shared the tradition with his own son, carrying forward a legacy of multi-generational farming. Though he often joked that he had lived in nearly every house in the village, Belcher and the family land were always home. As an only child, he remained especially close to his parents, William Andrew “Andy” and Mary Elizabeth “Sister” Yarbrough.
Andrew was a graduate of Trinity Heights Christian Academy, where he formed friendships that remained meaningful throughout his life. He had many close friends who were an important part of his journey, and he treasured the time spent with them. He enjoyed being with both friends and family and especially cherished the many moments at the family lake house.
He is survived by his parents, Sister and Andy Yarbrough; his children, daughter Katie Barr and her husband, Butch, and son Marc Yarbrough and his wife, Courtney; and his grandchildren, Beckham, Braxton, Lola, and Bennett; and his aunts, Frances Morace and Sandra Tisdale. He is also remembered with love by Marc’s mother, Monica, who remained a constant presence in the family and especially close to Meir and Pop.
Andrew faced many health challenges towards the end of his life, but he will be remembered for the joy he brought to others during his best moments. He was known for his willingness to help others and his love for animals, especially his dogs. His love for family and friends will be treasured and remembered for years to come.
The family asks for prayers and support, especially for his parents, as they face the heartbreaking loss of their only child. In a small family, the loss of someone gone far too soon leaves a large hole that is deeply felt by all who loved him.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Mickey McDade, Tommy Stinson, Eoin Dunn, and Jessie Kennedy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
