William Robert Yoder

William Robert (Bob) Yoder, age 74, of Plain City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 6th, 2025. He was born July 13th, 1950 to Newton and Mary Yoder of McVeytown, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Marlene (Gingerich) Yoder, their four children: Sheila (Michael Flood), Wendell, Roxanne (Keith Yoder), and Sheldon (Rebecca); six grandchildren: Jude and Charlotte Flood, Briony Yoder, Chase, Evan, and Levi Yoder; and four siblings: Mary Knepper, Harold Yoder, Linda Webster, and Jerry Yoder. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Patricia Yoder and Carol Chastain, and six babies (two children and four grandchildren).
A skilled plumber for over 40 years, Bob's work ethic was second to none, earning the respect and admiration of both colleagues and clients alike. He was often known to give time out of his evenings and weekends to help family and church people with their plumbing needs. Beyond his career, Bob loved nature and the outdoors. From being an avid deer hunter, to fishing, camping and hiking.
Bob found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. Whether it was sharing a meal with the family, delightedly cleaning off hand cranked ice cream paddles, or playing ball with his grandsons, his presence was a source of love and warmth. His humor, wisdom, and steady spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was a faithful husband and father, selflessly giving to serve his family. But first and foremost was his faithfulness to His Lord and Savior Jesus. His convictions never wavered and a more loyal commitment would be hard to find.
Well done good and faithful servant. Your legacy of faith, servanthood and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all those you touched.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 9th, 2025 from 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM at United Bethel Mennonite Church 11342 Lafayette Plain City Rd, Plain City, OH 43064. A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 10th, 2025 at 10 AM, also at the church. Family and friends may visit an hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at United Bethel Mennonite Cemetery.
