William H. "Willy" Young Jr.

William "Bill" H. Young Jr., 76, fondly known as "Willy" by his family, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, at Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY. He was born on May 30, 1949, in Cooperstown, son of the late William H. Sr. and Betty (Diamond) Young.

Bill was a proud graduate of HCCC and later went on to graduate from Utica College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting. A man of strong work ethic and determination, Bill dedicated over 30 years as the office manager of the Fort Schuyler Club, beginning his career there in 1972 and retiring in 2015. He also previously worked in the business office of The Eastern Star in Oriskany.

Bill was a lifelong sports fan, he especially enjoyed bowling, golfing, and cheering on the New York Jets and Mets. He was an avid reader of the Utica O.D. Bill's loyalty, kindness, and dedication were evident in everything he did. He upheld values that were shaped by his upbringing on the family dairy farm and as the eldest of seven siblings.

After retirement he remained connected to his community through being and honorary member at the Fort Schuyler Club.

Bill is survived by his siblings, Debby Temmermand, Connie Young, Cindy Young, and Kevan Young ; dear friends Debra Wurz and Michael Wurz;

He was predeceased by his parents; brother Dale Young and sister Rebecca (Becky) Cleveland.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Bill's devoted caregivers for their care and compassion, his "angels", Stacie, Erin, Faith, Abby, Renee, Cathy, Kris, Darcy, and Anna.

A service will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Fort Schuyler Club in Utica, NY, until 3:00 p.m, where a light lunch will be served as we share memories of Bill.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation or the Fort Schuyler Club Community Foundation.

Bill will be remembered for his determination, loyalty, and unwavering kindness. He was a hardworking man whose warmth and jokes touched all who knew him.
