Willie "Buck" Burrell, 88, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Choctaw Regional Medical Center in Ackerman, MS.
Funeral Services are 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Culpepper Funeral Home with burial to follow at North Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm prior to the services.
Buck is survived by his daughter Michele Bates, sisters Mary Ellen Wilson, Helen Frazier, and Jean Vaughn, grandchildren Gage Bates (Mia), Noah Burrell, and Brittany Thrasher (Evan), and great-grandchildren Sarah Sawyer Thrasher, Addelyn Rae Thrasher, Sonny Claire Bates, and Bailey Wren Bates.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Durant and a Master Mason with the Castalian Lodge in Durant. He retired as a Butcher for Piggly Wiggly.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents Joe Albin and Maggie Lee Jenkins Burrell, his wife Mary Nell McGehee Burrell, sons William Patrick Burrell and William Thomas Burrell, daughter Sarah Nell Burrell, son-in-law Sonny Bates, brothers Joseph Burrell and Warren Burrell, and grandsons William Clay Burrell and Sidney Clark Burrell.
