Mr. Willie Frank Davis is the son of the late Dorothy Jean Barefield and the late Mr. William Neal Davis, Sr born on October 8, 1943 in Alexander City, AL.
He was a member of Great Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he was an active member.
He attended Laurel High School. He was employed with Marshall Field in Chicago, IL in the 60's. Mr. Davis was employed with Russell Mills Corporation from 1971 until his retirement in 1999. After he retired, he worked with the election Polls in Alexander City, AL.
Mr. Willie Davis also spent time coaching Little League baseball, basketball, and football for Alexander City Parks and Rec. In the 80's, he played softball at Laurel Recreation Center (now, Cooper Recreation Center). He enjoyed playing golf at LakeWinds and enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. Mr. Davis was a Cancer Survivor since 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters Robbie Barefield, Edna Ruth Flowers, and Bethany Murph all of Alexander City, AL. Also, 2 brothers, William Davis, Jr. of Sacramento, CA and Leo Neal Davis of Montgomery, AL A son, Kenneth S. Glenn of Irondale, AL.
On Friday, January 12, 2024, he was called to his Heavenly Home. Mr. Willie Davis leaves to cherish his memories: Wife, Susie M. Davis; son, Steven Glenn (Lakevia) of Alexander City, AL; daughter, Monica Davis Gilmore (Todlover) of Alexander City, AL. Seven grandchildren: Aisha Davis, Alexis Davis, Aaron Davis, Audrey Gilmore, Caziah Gilmore, I'Esha Glenn, and Kadore Glenn. 5 great grandchildren: Aria, Kj, Aubree, Makenzie and Ja'Kayli. 3 brothers: Robert Davis (Karen) of Skokie, IL; Booker Gene Tucker (Claire) of Montgomery, AL and Blake Barefield (Gail) of Beach Park, IL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
