RIH Mr. Dreyer. You were so smart and a great teacher. I didn't understand a thing you taught me about math but the life lessons you shared with your students are still with me today, 38 years later. Thank you. Heather Breedlove BRHS Class of 1987

Willie was amazing. He was good at Tai Chi. He was well versed in French. But most of all he was a good friend. I remember having a discussion with him in which he was trying to translate a few verses from French. He couldn´t make it out and couldn´t figure out why. He asked me to listen. I listened to his French over and over again as he repeated the verses. Then I began to laugh. He looked at me quizzically. He was so focused on getting the meaning that he could not hear the sound of his own voice. The words in French were meaningless in French, but if you listen very carefully to the properly accented words you picked up on English sounds. When I told him what I heard. We both laughed at the cleverness of the composer. That was Willie! Clever.Thoughtful. Compassionate. And blessed with a good sense of humor.

Mr. Dreyer was a kind, patient, and dedicated teacher. He told the most off the wall stories which made us laugh. I´m still not sure what it means when the "sap is rising" but I´ll never forget it. My condolences to his family, friends, former students, and anyone who had the benefit of knowing him. God Bless.

I cannot expressed my sadness for the passing of Willie. We as colleagues at Bishop Ready HS, spent countless hours, babbling in French about anything and everything. He was good for my confidence as a French teacher and speaker and just an overall good guy with whom to associate. He left an indelible mark on me and I´ve referred to him several times in my career because of what I learned from him. Peace to all.

We loved Mr. Dreyer at Bishop Ready. He was brilliant, funny, demanding, generous, wise, and inspiring. He taught much more than math, he wanted us to open our eyes and imaginations to the endless possibilities of God's creation, and I am so lucky to have had him for a teacher and mentor. Thank you, Mr. Dreyer, for everything you did for me. I look forward to talking to you again soon.
My condolences to his family, and please know how much I loved and respected him.

Mr. Dreyer was my math teacher and coach for In The Know at Bishop Ready High School. He was a caring and compassionate mentor who actually listened to his students and made sure to teach to their strengths while building up their weaknesses. The lessons he imparted upon me stay with me to this day. His legacy lives in in those he helped. Until we meet again on the other side, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
