Funeral service for Willie Fred Edwards will be 3 PM Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home, with Rev. Steven Butler officiating the service. Burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Fred passed away on July 17, 2025 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife: Faye Edwards; son: Ricky Edwards, parents: Joe Ed and Virginia Lamb Edwards, sisters: Kathy, Rosie, and Sue, brothers: Tom, Earl, Ed, and Larry.
Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Edwards are his son: Tony Edwards, daughter: Donna Faye, (Chuck) Hill, grandchildren: Derek Edwards, Eric (Jennifer) Edwards, Darren Knight, Ethan Edwards, Devon (Justin) Crossley, and Amber Toney; 8 great-grandchildren, brother: Jerry Edwards, a host of nieces and nephews.
Fred was a member of the Greenvalley Baptist Church. He graduated from Buckhorn High School. He was the owner/operator for 46 years of Southside Furniture Refinishing. He loved Alabama Football and to go deer hunting and fishing. He really enjoyed spending time with his family especially doing cookouts and fish frys.
Pallbearers will be Chris Greer, Scott Tinsley, Verlyn McCurdy, Jim Tate, Hunter Mizell, and Mason Mizell.
Special thanks to the guys that work for the city of Attalla Public Works Department, also a special thanks to Riverview Regional Medical Center CCU staff.
