Willie Grimes Obituary
Mrs. Grimes had two children. She attended New Stanton Senior High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and was in Fellowship with The Heart of Jacksonville Church of God in Christ.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie A. Cummings; sisters, Juanita Murray, Elores Wilson, Early Williams, and Elaine Hall; and her granddaughter Nastasia Cummings.
On December 18, 2025, Mrs. Grimes departed this life leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. The footprints of her life will be remembered by those she leaves behind: one son George Michael Crittendon; three sisters, Lena M. Frisby, Gloria Mitchell, and Catherine Murray; one brother, Osborn Murray Jr. (Tanya); two grandchildren, Randall Cummings (Whitney), and Stephanie Ortiz (Brian); seven great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her influence and impact on this community will be felt as a testament to the profound effect of her life.
Mrs. Grimes, may be viewed on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Carthage Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2026, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Logan Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204, and the interment will be in Restlawn Cemetery South.
