Willie Hire Knight, age 97 of Lafayette passed away Monday morning, November 04, 2024 at Knollwood Manor. Willie is in the care of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette
Funeral Services for Willie Hire Knight will be conducted Friday morning, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Brother Jason Halloway officiating. Interment will follow in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park.
Visitation will begin Thursday afternoon from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until her service at 11:00 a.m.
Family request memorials be made to Oak Dale Cemetery. You may make these memorials by calling or coming by the funeral home.
She is preceded in death by: Parents, Lonnie & Cora Cliburn Hire; the father of her children, Virgil Knight; Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Ethel (Jessie) Shaw; Anna (Norman) Hauskin; Nephew, Jeff Hauskin; Niece, Bonnie Hampton, Mary Jo Dyer.
Survivors include: Daughters, Marcia (Howard Glenn) Dorris of the Oak Dale Community, Felecia (Michael) Oldham of Lafayette, Grandchildren, Derrick (Brooke) Dorris, Kevin (Melissa) Dorris, Nathan (Ashlee) Oldham, Neleigh (Morgan) Howard; 9 Great-Grandchildren, Kaylee Dorris, Josey Dorris, Logan Dorris, Hudson Dorris, Abby Oldham, Leah Oldham, Kelan Howard, Pierce Howard, Tage Howard, Nephews, Jerry (Brenda) Shaw, Bob (Jackie) Shaw, Niece, Carol (Ray) Smith.
