Willie (Jody) Moore, Jr., 68, of Folkston, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Folkston Park Nursing Facility. "Jody", as he was affectionately known by family and friends was born on January 11, 1956 to the late Willie "Raggs" and Rether Jones-Moore, Sr. in Charlton County, Georgia where he was also educated in the public school system. He was a member of Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church. Jody's employment history dates back to Gilman Paper Mill and International Paper (Union Camp) before his health began to fail and he was unable to work. Jody had a fascination with nice cars and always had one. He was a kind-spirited man and kept to himself most of the time.
Jody was preceded in death by both parents, Willie, Sr. and Rether Jones-Moore; his grandparents, Lovie Mae Franklin and Benjamin Thomas, Sr. and K.C. Moore and his uncle, Robert Moore.
Those left to cherish his memories: his only child, Teresa Searcy, Folkston, GA; his grandchildren, Kadejah Reese and Taurean Searcy, both of Atlanta, GA and Treyvione Searcy of Harker Heights, Texas; his brothers, Henry D. Moore, Hollywood, CA, Larry (Janie) Moore, Folkston, GA and Terry Moore, Jacksonville, FL; his aunts, Lucille Jones, Verdie Shellman and Nettie Jones, all of Folkston, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
There will not be a wake/visitation. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services on Saturday at the cemetery.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at The Neeley Cemetery, Folkston, GA @ 11:00 AM.
